Oda Müller was born towards the end of the Second World War in Münsingen in the Swabian Alb region of Germany. She has lived in Switzerland since 1965. Her father decided on her career path: business school and office work. However, it was not until 1985 that her escapism to Switzerland allowed her to arrive at her own reality: as an unqualified nursery school teacher, then a school for social work to become a social education worker. She worked as a social worker at the Youth Prosecutor's Office in Zurich until her retirement. To balance this, she pursued her long-standing hobby as a sculptor, danced with the Tanztheater 3. Frühling dance theatre, and gained a wealth of personal experience through analysis and therapy.

MovingTowardsZero #6: Movement for Change
Tanzhaus Zurich invites you to a monthly series of events that sees creativity as a powerful tool for social and environmental change. With MovingTowardsZero, we bring together renowned experts from the fields of art, science and activism to jointly develop new perspectives on the major challenges of our time. This series is more than just an event – it is an invitation to explore new ways in which art and creativity can contribute to solving the most pressing issues of our time. Be there when movement becomes movement.
An intergenerational conversation on dance and climate justice
How can artistic practice and sustainability merge? What innovative perspectives can be derived from dance, activism and science for social change? On the third evening of our series, there will be a conversation between Oda U. Müller fromKlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz and choreographer Charlotte Mathiessen. This encounter between climate activism and artistic practice promises inspiring insights into the connections between physical and social movement. The conversation invites us to reflect on generations, hope, perseverance and creativity in the context of the climate crisis and seeks to find connections between dance and activism.
The conversation will last approximately one hour, after which all attendees are invited to ask questions and share their thoughts.
The 1002F bookshop will be presenting a fine selection of books on site.
MovingTowardsZero is supported by Stadt Zürich Kultur, Pro Helvetia Schweizer Kulturstiftung, Ernst Göhner Stiftung, Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft des Kantons Zürich
