MovingTowardsZero #3: Radically Creative – Action Art for Change

Tanzhaus Zurich invites you to a monthly series of events that sees creativity as a powerful tool for social and environmental change. With MovingTowardsZero,we bring together renowned experts from the fields of art, science and activism to jointly develop new perspectives on the major challenges of our time. This series is more than just an event – it is an invitation to explore new ways in which art and creativity can contribute to solving the most pressing issues of our time.

Racism, climate crisis and political apathy: the world needs new radical ideas and measures if it wants to solve its challenges and problems. Above all, it needs more courage and a new enthusiasm for democratic values and political engagement. In their contributions, the Radical Daughters convey approaches to action art and artistic activism. Through their work, they empower people to use performance art to formulate their concerns and goals and develop ways to achieve them. The aim of the contributions is to promote humanity, attitude and passion and to help participants discover their capacity for action. For a critical mass that burns with passion once again: for democracy, equality and brotherhood.

The 1002F bookshop will be presenting a fine selection of books on site.

MovingTowardsZero is supported by Stadt Zürich Kultur, Pro Helvetia Schweizer Kulturstiftung, Ernst Göhner Stiftung, Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft des Kantons Zürich

Cesy Leonard / Radikale Töchter

Cesy Leonard is a performance artist and founder of Radikale Töchter (Radical Daughters). Until 2019, she was part of the artistic team at the Centre for Political Beauty, developing political multimedia interventions that attracted international attention. Her focus is on political empowerment through art. With Radikale Töchter, she creates spaces in which political action is reimagined. At the intersection of art, design, politics and education, she provides creative impetus for social change. Her approach combines aesthetic strategies with activist methods to encourage people to become politically active themselves. Cesy Leonard is a work-in-progress feminist, mother of three and lives in Berlin. Her work stands for radical creativity and the power of art to initiate social change.

Radical Daughters
Since 2019, Radical Daughters have been inspiring effective, extraordinary forms of political participation in their workshops. Their training plan, which combines action, art and politics, is designed to spark the flame – to show how easy it can be to take action. For a critical mass of young people who are once again burning with passion: for democracy. For human rights. For social justice.
