anger angels (ETERNAL LETDOWN)
anger angels (ETERNAL LETDOWN)
An event by Teresa Vittucci and Sophía Rodríguez
anger angels (ETERNAL LETDOWN) is the first collaboration between choreographers Teresa Vittucci (Austria/Switzerland) and Sophía Rodríguez (Venezuela/Belgium). Funny, physical and impossible to look away from, the performance explores anger as a force for change.
anger angels (ETERNAL LETDOWN) is the first piece by choreographers Teresa Vittucci (Austria/Switzerland) and Sophía Rodríguez (Venezuela/Belgium).
Many people see anger as something bad. Women are often told not to show their anger. This performance tells a different story. It shows that anger can also give us strength and create change.
To explore these ideas, the stage becomes an unusual office. Two angels appear. They meet human anger and try to understand it. Through dance, movement and voice, they show the many sides of this powerful feeling.
The performance is funny, surprising and sometimes strange. The two artists float through the space. They sing in invented languages and make music with everyday office objects. Together, they create unexpected images and sounds.
The performance invites the audience to see anger in a new way. Anger does not only destroy. It can also bring people together, give us strength and inspire change.
On a surreal office-like stage, two angels encounter human rage. Through movement and voice, they challenge the idea that women and femme people should hide their anger. Along the way, surprising encounters emerge with the stage, the audience and each other.
Watching anger angels (ETERNAL LETDOWN) feels a bit like a massage you did not know you needed: unsettling and comforting at the same time. With humour and irony, Rodríguez and Vittucci transform anger into something unexpected. They float, sing in invented languages and turn everyday office objects into unlikely instruments. Have you ever heard a keyboard and a hole punch make music together?
The performance reclaims anger, especially the anger of women and femme people, from the idea that it is irrational or dangerous. It invites us to stay with what burns beneath the surface and to discover its power to heal and transform.
