Upside Down - Inside Out

Šuka Horn

The two-day workshop of Šuka Horn aims at inspiring participants to expand their abilities with playful joy and harmonious movement. His studies in contemporary and urban dance, acrobatics, somatics, meditation, and other movement and mindfulness modalities led him to one of his most persistent research areas to date: combining raw physical challenges with an interest in mindful and efficient movement – moving upside down and inside out. With this workshop, Suka invites you to a creative playground: a time and space for quiet reflection, wild play and embodied questioning. In the course of the two days, participants will have the opportunity to explore:

  • The Internal Dance of Attention through Somatic Research
  • Dancing as an Examination and Celebration of our Anatomy and the Physics of Motion
  • Playful Interaction with the Physical Environment and Other People

Šuka Horn

Born and raised in Germany, Šuka Horn began training in breakdance at the age of 12. His passion and exploration of other styles led him to study at, and graduate from, Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam. In 2020, he moved to Athens to join Dimitris Papaioannou’s creation Transverse Orientation, which later led to INK, a duet performed with Papaioannou himself. Šuka has taught at universities, dance companies, festivals, and studios in 19 countries.
