Professional Training Contemporary

Diego Alvarez Sanóu

This class develops a deep understanding of movement and its elements through progressive steps. Each dancer has their own rhythm; the aim is to honor individuality while cultivating a shared flow. The class explores key components of movement: navigating space, transitioning in and out of the floor, and sustaining motion both alone and with others. The first part of the class, “Understanding the Body in Space,” focuses on physical awareness, weight shifts, strength, flexibility, and smooth transitions to and from the floor. The second part, “Appropriating Movement & Expression,” shifts from technique to creativity, offering space for personal interpretation and expression.

This training is organized as part of a triangular collaboration with IG Tanz Zentralschweiz and Tanzbüro Basel.
