New Leadership Appointment Starting Summer 2026

12.06.2025

Starting with the 2026/2027 season (summer 2026), Lisa Letnansky and Guillaume Guilherme will take over the leadership of Tanzhaus Zürich.

The board of the Tanzhaus Zürich association elected them last Monday from a shortlist of three candidates proposed by the selection committee. They will succeed Catja Loepfe, who has shaped Tanzhaus since 2014 and, as planned, will remain in office until the end of the 2025/2026 season.

In their new role, Guillaume Guilherme and Lisa Letnansky will co-direct the strategic development of Tanzhaus. The board has chosen a duo that has proven itself over the years in Zurich's dance and performance scene as well as in local and national cultural policy.

Together, they aim to balance continuity and renewal: the successful Accomplices Model will be maintained and further developed. At the same time, their vision focuses on digital visibility and communication, audience diversification, sustainability, national and international collaborations, and an open, empathetic team culture. Their motto: Move and be moved – a Tanzhaus in motion, that moves Zurich.

Lisa Letnansky holds a degree in German studies, has worked as a curator at Gessnerallee Zürich, and since 2024 has led the dramaturgy department at Tanzhaus Zürich. She has long-standing ties to Zurich’s independent arts scene, co-founded the artFAQ platform to support and professionalize cultural workers, and actively participates in various cultural-political bodies advocating for the independent sector.

Guillaume Guilherme is a dancer, cultural manager, and dance mediator with Brazilian-Swiss roots. He spent many years at Tanzhaus Zürich before changing to Südpol Luzern, where he has led the Performing Arts department since 2023. Guilherme is well-connected within the national dance community, serves on funding juries, and advocates for inclusive, audience-centered outreach formats.

To fill this new position, the Tanzhaus Zürich association established a search committee tasked with identifying the new leadership. In a multi-stage process, the committee selected three finalists from a total of 29 team and individual applications and recommended them to the board. The final appointment of Lisa Letnansky & Guillaume Guilherme was made by the association’s board.

We already extend our heartfelt thanks to Catja Loepfe for her tireless dedication over the past decade and look forward to a smooth transition and an exciting new chapter with Guillaume Guilherme & Lisa Letnansky.
