The six artists – Julie Botet, Max Gomard, Philomène Jander, Zoé Lakhnati, Simon Le Borgne and Ulysse Zangs – are among the rising talents of the contemporary dance scene in France. Gush is Great is their first joint creation; it won second prize at Danse élargie 2024 at the Théâtre de la Ville (Paris) and was selected for Aerowaves The Twenty25.

ZÜRICH TANZT: Double Bill – Gush is Great / Fantasie Minor
Two gems of the international dance scene: a beguiling procession blending raw poetry, absurdity and quiet rebellion, and a hip-hop pas de deux set to Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor, brimming with camaraderie and idiosyncratic elegance.
Gush is GreatFive dancers stride slowly across the stage. Anything seems possible – and yet, at the same time, one senses a quiet drift towards something inevitable. Absurd objects keep appearing – a bouquet of roses, a water pistol, a mechanical dog. Despite the comical moments, the performers remain serious, connected to one another and true to their pace. Gush is Great is a mesmerising procession between raw poetry and quiet rebellion of rare intensity.
Fantasie Minor
Chloé Robidoux and Anka Postic, two dancers who have been friends since childhood, take to the stage. Their clunky boots contrast with the lightness of Schubert’s Fantasia in F minor. High-energy duels transform into small pas de deux, with hip hop, house, dancehall and classical dance forms merging seamlessly – guided by an impetuous joy of movement.
In Marco da Silva Ferreira’s choreography, classical and hip-hop codes shed their weight and reinvent themselves. Between fragile attempts and playful virtuosity, a unique form of grace and elegance emerges.
