✨SEA WITCH WHISPERS✨ is part of ongoing research by kairo fumilayo edward into mermaids, water spirits, and oceanic beings, connecting them with (post)colonial narratives that resonate beneath the waves. Within this cosmos, the lines between the beautiful and the grotesque, the sacred and the demonized, the romanticized and the sexualized are in constant interplay with one another. The duality of mermaids—their beauty and brutality, intelligence and wickedness, sacredness and demonization—mirrors the complexities of the Black femme experience in today’s (post)colonial world.

kairo fumilayo edward (2000) is a Swiss-Nigerian interdisciplinary artist whose practice and work are centered around the (QT)BIPOC community. kairo studied acting at ZHdK and graduated from the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in 2025. kairo’s practice revolves around HEALING, DECOLONIZING, and BITCH CRAFTING, spanning disciplines, media, and genres.

From acting on major stages to starring in various movies, producing & writing their own music for ✨DIABETES DIARIES✨ (work in progress), and collaborating with artists such as Joana Tischkau, Jeremy Nedd, and Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure among others in the Swiss, German, and Dutch scenes, kairo moves fluidly between forms to tell stories that demand to be expressed.

Binta Kopp (2001) is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Zurich, whose work spans dream pop, experimental sounds, and emotional soundscapes. As a DJ and producer, she creates intimate, atmospheric spaces where music serves as a unifying element.

On January 1, 2026, she released her debut album my little pony, a personal project that blends nostalgia, vulnerability, and self-empowerment. In addition to music, she works as a photographer and filmmaker.
