مشاركة (mushāraka)
مشاركة (mushāraka) is a performative sharing that explores what it means to be “here but there” — when the body is present but the mind drifts elsewhere. It reflects on life and death in the context of the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Through movement and physical theatre, intimate and ironic actions, and the intrusion of rapidly shifting news and advertisements, the work reveals how extreme violence and death can unfold so quickly that they begin to feel disturbingly normal. It questions how distance, time, and repetition shape the way we witness suffering — and how art itself can appear naïve in the face of such reality.
This chapter is being developed during a residency within the Artists at Risk program with RENA, in collaboration with Gessnerallee, Tanzhaus Zürich, and Theater Neumarkt.
