In SACRE, self-regulating movements known as stimming encounter externally imposed resistance. In this way, societal mechanisms of exclusion related to neurodivergence become physically tangible.

As part of its residency at Tanzhaus Zürich, compagnie O. explores in SACRE a choreographic re-reading of The Rite of Spring. Its choreographic leitmotif is stimming against resistance: stimming is a self-regulating movement typical of neurodivergent people. The dancers direct it against a resistance that is physically tangible, externally imposed, and acts on everyone equally. This makes society’s exclusion of neurodivergence bodily perceptible. Within this, the sacrificial myth shifts as community and individual are renegotiated. SACRE is the fourth and final project in the MULTIVERSE cycle.

Sharings offer a glimpse into the creative process behind an artistic work. After the presentation, there will be a brief audience discussion. This provides the audience with an opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts, and engage in direct dialogue with the artists.
