A Sharing with Angelika Ächter, Jeanette Engler from the Kollektiv dance me to the end

15 participants of the People Projekt tell you what interests them about dancing and what they value in it. You get an insight into their work together.

The People Projekt is a project of the collective dance me to the end. Members of the collective research together with people of different ages who do not dance professionally. Angelika Ächter and Jeanette Engler lead the project. At the sharing on 13 December 2026 at Tanzhaus Zürich, 15 participants show what they are working on together: a dance improvisation.

For the participants, the language of dance is a home. Exploring something new with the group is pure joy. In doing so, they find inner balance and ask themselves what they experience as “dancerly” and what they express.

What matters to them is growing older in dance, staying mobile and staying true to themselves. When they dance, they feel connected with themselves and their fellow dancers, safe in eternity, removed from the “noise of everyday life”. They discover something new when they invite their body, gently or wildly, on voyages of discovery.

An elaborate sequence of forms and tempi seems to interlock like clockwork. What they like about working together is the inspiration and the development of the dance improvisation. They experience fitting encounters in time and intensity, and their curiosity keeps developing. The group is enthusiastic and wants to pass it on to you.

Sharings offer a glimpse into the creative process behind an artistic work. After the presentation, there will be a brief audience discussion. This provides the audience with an opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts, and engage in direct dialogue with the artists.
