Fazil On Yu

Fazil On Yu is a Ugandan-born dance artist, choreographer, activist, and performance maker. He studied art and psychology and currently lives in Zurich. His practice is predominantly developed in dance theatre and performance art, stimulating audiences through multidisciplinary works presented in conventional, unconventional, and digital spaces. Fazil describes himself as a rebel artist.

Through his work, he interprets, reflects on, and gives voice to the present, drawing inspiration from lived realities and, in particular, pressing political issues. He believes that theatre is a vital tool for community intervention, engagement, and empowerment.
