Tina Mantel

Tina has been working as a freelance choreographer, dancer and teacher in Zurich and the USA since the 1980s. She is the artistic director of the Tanzmehr association and has led the manntanzt group since 2012. In 2021, she launched Switzerland’s first community dance festival, “Tanzmehr anderes festival commun”, which took place for the third time in 2026. She is a co-founder and member of the collective dance me to the end, which has been campaigning for the visibility of older dance practitioners since 2023. In the field of cultural policy, she has championed the independent Zurich dance scene on the board of TanzLOBBY IG Tanz Zürich and Brücki 235. Tina’s work has been supported by the City and Canton of Zurich, the Federal Office of Culture and numerous private foundations. She is the mother of three adult children.
