About us

Tanzhaus Zürich treats the existing physical, material and psychological resources with respect and acts as sustainably as possible.

We promote professional equality and the cultural participation of all genders and ways of life. BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, persons with migration experience and representatives of groups that are underrepresented in the cultural sector are explicitly welcome in our institution. In line with our efforts to become an inclusive institution, we adapt our work and production processes to the needs of people with disabilities.

The Verein Tanzhaus Zürich protects the mental and physical health of all persons who work on the premises, who are guests or members of the public, or who have any other connection with the institution. Any form of harassment, discrimination, abuse or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated, regardless of the source of the behaviour.

FAIRSPEC

Artists of the independent performing arts scene in German-speaking Switzerland and representatives of institutions and funding bodies addressed urgent social, artistic and contemporary issues at a series of events organised by the FAIRSPEC initiative and developed a common code of conduct. This code identifies the essential guiding principles that will guide our future work. They include personal competences, aspects of communication and cooperation as well as the commitment to comply with the guidelines of professional associations.

Complaints

Anyone who is subjected to harassment, assault, discriminatory behavior, abuse of function or other inappropriate behavior at Tanzhaus Zürich or in our café/bar NUDE is encouraged to report the incident to care@tanzhaus-zuerich.ch.

Inés Maloigne, Head of Communication, will review the complaint, contact the person who lodged it for further information if necessary, and will clarify whether external experts need to be consulted. The right to civil and criminal prosecution remains reserved.

The persons who reach out to Tanzhaus Zürich and the affected individuals are protected. Information is handled with absolute confidentiality. However, anonymous reports cannot be considered. Tanzhaus Zürich ensures that people who report an incident are not disadvantaged and that the accused are not unnecessarily harmed. People who maliciously accuse others or damage the reputation of others will be subject to measures.

Sexual and sexist harassment

Tanzhaus Zürich has drawn up regulations against sexual and sexist harassment in the workplace in collaboration with the city of Zürich’s Office for Gender Equality.

Tanzhaus Zürich cultivates a constructive exchange with all interested parties. In doing so, we attach importance to respect and fairness. Accordingly, some rules apply when interacting with Tanzhaus Zürich via its social media profiles. These supplement the general terms of use of the respective platforms.
