Wellington Gadelha experiments with the body in dialogue with other materials. He is concerned with his artistic and political agenda. But also about his subjective experiences and narratives of the world. He encourages reflection on spatial, racialised and ethnic divisions. He is passionate about the combination of contemporary material composition, improvisation and visual design. He is dedicated to visual art, dance, video dance and immersive technologies and sound art. He is involved in networks that campaign for human rights, disadvantaged neighbourhoods and Black youth. He thematises racism, the presence of Black people in particular in slums and contemporary art. Gadelha was honoured by Rumos Itaú Cultural (2017-2018) and Funarte Artes Visuais (2017). Collaborations with Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Ceará, Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste, among others. Residencies in Chile and Portugal. Participation in international festivals such as Atos de Fala (AdF.19) in Switzerland, Festival Panorama in partnership with CN D (FR). He was a research assistant at the Fundação Biblioteca Nacional within the framework of Racial Equality (Secretaria Nacional de Políticas de Promoção da Igualdade Racial).
