Meret Schlegel

Residency guest 24/25

Meret Schlegel looks back on a long and successful dance career, both on and off stage. After training as a dancer in Switzerland and the USA, she began working as a dancer and performer in Europe and the USA, frequently collaborating with artists from other disciplines. In addition, she was actively involved in numerous cultural institutions in Zurich, including serving as director of Tanzhaus Zürich. She later resumed her career as a dancer and performer and has since been creating her own works. In 2013, Meret received the Dance Award of the City of Zurich. That same year, she founded the company zeitSprung together with Kilian Haselbeck. In 2015, they received a Swiss Dance Award for their duet Orthopädie or to be. Since then, they have been touring with various pieces and interactive street performances, continuously creating new works—both together and independently.
