Rafael Smadja

The class is based on the fundamentals of dance through improvisation and composition methods. It combines tools from the world of theater, clowning, contact dance, hiphop and contemporary dance. The essence of the course is based on the creative, poetic and technical aspects of the dance performers. The class includes a warm-up (mixing several physical techniques such as yoga, martial arts, body conditioning) then solo or group exercises. There is no choreography or repertoire material.

Rafael Smadja

After a rich journey as a performer for various dance and theater companies, Rafael has founded two of his own companies: Cie. Tenseï (FR) in 2015 and Cie. champloO (CH) in 2019. In both companies, Rafael Smadja works as a dancer and choreographer.

He developed a particular approach to movement and technique combining hip hop, contemporary dance, clown technique and theater tools.
