Architektur FilmTage Zürich 2019: Play Serious


The third edition of the Architektur FilmTage Zürich – the first and only architecture film festival in Zurich – takes place from November 20th to 24th. This year the festival offers once again a fabulous film program with panels and workshops that cover various fields regarding the discipline of architecture and specifically the study of urbanism. The films will be shown at various locations in Zurich

At Tanzhaus the following film will be screened:

Play Serious
T. M. Rives, USA, 2018, 58´, English (with English subtitles), G-Rated

Play Serious follows the acclaimed Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman and his creative team as they prepare the production of Play (2018) at the Opera Garnier in Paris. Indulge on a journey with Ekman, who juggles time limits, personal anxiety and the very foundation of entertainment, as he challenges the possibilities of the most prestigious dance company in the world.
Play Serious
is the latest work of American filmmaker T.M. Rives and this is his second cooperation with Ekman, after his award-winning film Rare Birds (2015).


Film will be followed by Q&A “Dance and Space” with Catja Loepfe (Artistic and Administrative Director, Tanzhaus Zurich)
