Mélissa Guex

Mélissa Guex (*1993) is a dancer and choreographer. She grew up in a small village at the foot of the Jura mountains in Switzerland. She developed a taste for the stage while practicing theatrical improvisation and decided to train in both dance and theatre. In 2012, she joined the Compagnie du Marchepied in Lausanne. She then trained at the Lassaad School in Brussels, which teaches movement theatre, and continued to train in dance by attending workshops in Brussels with Ultima Vez, Peeping Tom, as well as in Tel Aviv with Ohad Naharin. In 2016, she began studying at La Manufacture in Lausanne and obtained her Bachelor in Contemporary Dance in June 2019. She has created several short pieces: the duo Hayali (2017) with Emre Yildizar, the collective project Hors piste (2018) and the solo De ceux (2019). Since finishing her studies, Mélissa has been assistant choreographer and director to Eugénie Rebetez, while dancing in Géraldine Chollet's new creation, as well as in Nina Negri's piece Mr. la Multiple presented at Théâtre de Vidy. She is an associate artist at Théâtre Sévelin36 where she presented her solo work sous-sol, and she is preparing a new creation for March 2022. Mélissa Guex lives in Lausanne.
